Abstract :
To preoccupy the market faster than the competitors and establish the marketing strategy to satisfy the consumers´ needs, companies focus on making their best efforts for cost reduction, which is one of the most influential key to the operation. In manufacturing companies, the logistics cost is varied in the range of the product types, methods and situational surroundings. But because of the world-wide globalization of business, logistics cost accounts for a large amount in the total cost. Therefore, due to the introduction of the transportation management system(TMS) based on the establishment of warehouse process and information technology plays a primary role when the logistics system is introduced. TMS, the transportation and delivery system, is widely used in the domestic market as a logistics management program. In this study, the importance of logistics in the manufacturing industry is discussed. Also, the strengths of TMS are presented. Finally the efficiency of logistics system on the TMS system is proved. The purpose of this study is to discuss the importance of logistics in the manufacturing industry and present both strength and efficiency of TMS and analyze the relevant factors by using compatibility information, transportation management, route management, service-related information and so on in order to emphasize the usage of TMS.
