Abstract :
This paper describes the application of SAW technology in RF multichip modules (MCMs) for Nortel´s IS-54 dual mode cellular radio system. The SAW implementation include wideband RF filters, narrowband IF channel select filters and coupled resonator oscillator feedback elements. This paper will also review some implementation issues and unique challenges of RF MCM technology as they apply to the SAW designer. The functionality of each MCM will be described and demonstrated through measured results
