Abstract :
Undergraduate students at California State Polytechnic University at Pomona have been designing camera system-on-a- chips. This technology, which allows support electronics to be incorporated on the same chip as the image sensor, makes possible highly-miniaturized, low-power camera systems, ideal for in-situ oceanographic monitoring. We present the results of our efforts, which included the development of a digital camera to test the image sensors, and our future plans.
