Abstract
This paper presents a novel vector control method suitable for a cost-effective parallel-connected multiple induction motors drive system, which can realize a quick and accurate motor torque control for a Shinkansen traction system. The quick torque control of the single-inverter multiple-motors (SIMM) is theoretically analyzed and its stability is predicted in the PWM mode in the low and medium speed region, and also in the single pulse mode in the high speed region. Performance of the proposed method is confirmed by digital simulations and miniature model experiments
