Abstract
Operating features of a hybrid MAC-layer protocol (GIT-CSMA/CD) for industrial local area networks are described together with its computer simulated performance evaluation, under the assumption of station-based and message-based priorities. The implementation of GIT-CSMA/CD which is based partially on the capabilities and features of existing network controllers is presented
