Abstract :
The design and general operation of a wideband filter are described. Specific attention is given to the advanced computerized calibration and automated acceptance testing procedures for the Model 2581 wideband filter. Producibility and repeatability performance are the results of the computer-controlled calibration and acceptance testing. The system used is menu driven and separated into three logical sections: a board-level calibration; a system-level calibration; and an automated acceptance testing procedure. Computerization replaces the time-consuming manual calibration efforts used in other tunable, wideband filters. Moreover, the automation produces more reliable, consistent filters built with more stringent specifications
