Abstract :
Multi-layer coupled strip-resonators are proposed for the design of miniature filters in LTCC technology. Strong capacitive couplings between the strips at different layers are introduced in such resonators to significantly reduce the resonator size. The full-wave numerical method in Sonnet and equivalent circuit models are used to investigate the characteristics of the proposed multi-layer resonators. Two filter examples using triple-layer coupled stripline resonators and double-layer coupled hairpin resonators are presented to validate the feasibility of filter designs using multi-layer resonators.
