Abstract
Evolution of pulse high-current vacuum arc in a wide range of rate of current rise is theoretically investigated. Conditions at which there is an infringement of stability of a vacuum arch are found. Evolution of instability is accompanied by change of current rate and peaks of voltage. Comparison of calculations with results of an experimental research of the initiated pulse discharge duration of 0.85 μs is carried out at rate of current rise up to di/dt=5·1010/s. Experimental results are qualitatively coordinated with theoretical dependences. It is shown, that suppression of voltage peaks is possible by corresponding selection of amplitude and the form of a current impulse of the initiating discharge. The received results show possible ways of optimization of designs of triggered vacuum switches and their triggering systems.
