Abstract :
A state-space solution to the standard H-optimal control problem for the `square case´ is presented. The technique is based on a J-spectral factorization of the scattering matrix corresponding to the controlled plant, and the class of suboptimal controllers is parameterized only by these matrices. It is shown that there exists a suboptimal controller whose dimension is the same as that of the controlled plant
