Abstract :
This paper proposes a mixer topology based on MOS transistors working in the linear region. In which, a design of a new mixer topology inspired by a topology called KAFEMIX is presented. Analysis for nonlinear behavior of the MOS transistor in the triode region is presented based on MOST continuous-time circuit technique. Our analysis proves extended dynamic range for the mixer. Our mixer is used in a typical design of a CDMA 2000 transceivers, and its performance is examined to ensure that it complies with CDMA 2000 Standard. The mixer circuit is designed in 0.18 mu BiCMOS process. Mixer simulations result in a gain of 9.1 dB and NF of 4.9 with large SFDR of 78 dB.
