Abstract
The authors discuss the development of a real-time parallel control ES (expert system) associated with the selection of appropriate software and hardware structures. Specific machines considered include Intel hypercubes. Comparison is made to ES execution on serial machines such as the TI explorer. A specific application to the hierarchical control of an advanced avionics vehicle, the Robotic Air Vehicle, is used in the evaluation
