Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new TDOF control scheme which minimizes the tracking error at the target position instead of minimizing the tracking error during track-seeking. A simple and effective scheme to modify the reference trajectory is introduced in the conventional TDOF control system. The proposed method is applied to the track-seeking control of hard disk drives, and it is shown that the track-seeking error can be reduced by the simulation using a precise model of HDDs. The proposed method does not depend on reference trajectory, thus many kinds of trajectories can be used with this method.
