Abstract
The performance of an OFDM system in an unknown time-variant frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel is analyzed. An optimal 2-dimensional finite length Wiener interpolator is used as a data-aided channel estimator. An exact expression for the bit error probability is derived and used in the performance analysis. Results show that the pilot symbol spacing and the length of the Wiener interpolator have to be selected jointly according the Doppler spread and the delay spread of the channel
