Abstract :
Variable integration period surface rainfall hyetograms are obtained using autographic rain gauges at 5 locations in Singapore. The data are statistically processed to provide spatial cumulative rainfall distributions for rain fade analysis in accordance to ITU 618-8 recommendations. Results show that the rainfall distributions obtained from the rain gauge data is lower than the 1992 CCIR P.837 recommendations but higher than the 2003 ESA/ITU-R P.837-4 recommendations for a 20 years cumulative data. Spatial variability of rainfall distributions within Singapore is found to be about 29% for a 5 years cumulative data.
