Abstract
Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is considered as one of the promising candidate technologies for wireless personal area network (WPAN). Many researches have been reported on the UWB baseband transmission and wireless ad hoc networks. This paper aims to demonstrate the feasibility of UWB application in wireless ad hoc network and discusses the design, implementation and synthesis of a UWB peer-to-peer network Preliminary experimental results show the suitableness of UWB for wireless ad hoc networks for WPAN application. The results from this paper enable system designers to provide a low-power- transmission, high-data-rate consumer electronics solution for the implementation of WPAN, which is believed to be biased toward the very competitive market.
