Abstract :
The multipath error represents the most severe error source in GPS measurements for both standalone and differential modes. Therefore, several studies have been carried out to reduce its effect. However, non of these studies can achieve acceptable performance for all relative delay multipaths, simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a new discriminator function named All Multipaths Insensitive Code Loop Discriminator (AMICLD) that is insensitive to all multipaths whatever their relative delays. The proposed discriminator is implemented using noncoherent Dot Product Power (DPP) discriminator function. The performance of the proposed discriminator is validated with and without multipaths for two different types of receivers; infinite pre-correlation bandwidth (BW) and 2 MHz pre-correlation BW. Simulation results show that the proposed AMICLD has the ability to mitigate all multipaths whatever their relative delays in the two different types of receivers. The obtained results also show that multipath errors are greatly reduced using the proposed AMICL when compared to a Narrow Correlator (NC) loop.
