Abstract :
In line with China´s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), largely due to the encouragement and support by the Chinese government, the last decades have witnessed a dramatic growing trend of Chinese construction companies making significant inroads into the international market. A Diamond Model is developed in this technical note to analyze the factors that have significant impacts on the competitiveness of the Chinese International Construction Companies (CICCs) in the Global Market. Data was collected from multiple sources including literature survey, statistics and policy review. The results show that Diamond Model is an effective method for the CICCs´ self-competitiveness-assessment, which has great potential to be applied to any international contractor´s competitiveness study in the global market.
