Abstract
A very simple regulator with noisy plant and noisy measurements (e.g., a thermostat contains quadratic nonlinearities in both plant and measurement. Following a modification of the theory described for cubic nonlinearities by M. Shefer, an optimal nonlinear compensator is designed. Its performance is compared with that of the simple linear compensator
