  • Abstract
The concept of reasonable floor area ratio (FAR) based on transit-oriented development (TOD) was put forward. The model which explores the influence of different transit modes between a central city and a satellite city to FAR in reasonable-walking area around the station in the satellite city was set up. It shows the reasonable FAR of walking area in a satellite city is in direct proportion to the capacity of the transit between the satellite city and the center city. The example indicates that the different modes of the transit between the central city and the satellite city (TCCSC) have the different land-use density, the function of the subway and suburb rail in raising the land-use density of a satellite city is obvious.
