Abstract
The paper deals with dc / dc converter suitable to be coupled with fuel cells sources. The spreading of fuel cells has impelled a deep study of dc / dc converter structures properly designed to solve problems connected with the use of fuel cells as primary energy source. A good solution is represented by DIC (dual input inductor converter). The paper focuses on this kind of converter proposing a modification of the base structure in order to achieve ZVS operation. Moreover, in the paper, designing and dimensioning guidelines, for the proposed structure, are presented. Finally, a whole fuel cell based energy source has been simulated and simulation results are reported.
