Evaluation on the Performance of Urban Domestic Sewage Treatment Plants in China

Performance evaluation of urban domestic sewage treatment plants includes evaluation of sewage collection, sewage treatment effectiveness, efficiency and fairness. Establishing a scientific performance evaluation model is of great significance to ensure the sewage treatment effect and to improve the sewage treatment efficiency. An evaluation index system is to be established according to the urban domestic sewage management objectives; city´s centralized treatment rate is to be evaluated according to the serving population; the urban domestic sewage treatment effect is to be evaluated according to the sewage discharge permit; the urban domestic sewage treatment efficiency is to be evaluated according to the unit pollutant reduction cost; urban domestic sewage treatment investment is to be estimated based on the most efficient plant´s sewage treatment cost.
