Abstract :
Summary form only given. The acceleration of urbanization results more and more people living in cities, in turn, the rapid growth of logistics, population and traffic flow come along, which causes a series of transportation and environment problems such as the increases of traffic congestion and exhaust emission, etc. This article, focus on the following four aspects, systematically studied the developmental model of low-carbon transportation in Japan in terms of the current status of transportation carbon emission, the structure of metropolitan transportation system, and policy execution, etc. in process of transition to low carbon society. This study will provide valuable information to China in the area of developing low-carbon transportation system.
