Abstract :
The conception of the centripetal effect of a magnetic bearing brings forward. And an experimental measurement method for the centripetal effect of a magnetic bearing is suggested. The existence of the centripetal effect of the magnetic bearing is convinced through the experiment and the value of centripetal effect is measured on a one-DOF magnetic suspending ball experimental device. The difference between the working condition of a magnetic bearing and the condition of ANSYS calculation is analyzed. The conclusion come the experimental measurement for centripetal effect can´t be entirely substituted by ANSYS calculation, there some limitation on ANSYS calculation in the field of centripetal effect calculation of a magnetic bearing. The conclusion is convinced by an experiment on a magnetic suspended disk device. The related questions on how to use the centripetal effect in a magnetic bearing application system is discussed. A practical application system is presented as an example how to use the centripetal effect in a magnetic bearing application system. On the system a 5-DOF magnetic suspension is successfully realized, with 3-DOF is restricted by principal magnetic force and 2-DOF is restricted by centripetal effect of the magnetic bearing.
