Abstract :
A cross-layer design of packet scheduling and resource allocation based on beamforming for multiuser MIMO-OFDM systems is presented in this paper. First, we design beamforming vectors in order to convert the MIMO channels into equivalent single-input single-output (SISO) channels and choose the main SISO channel to transmit packets. Then we use a multi-strategy scheduler to schedule packets of all users at medium access (MAC) layer and an adaptive resource allocation algorithm is then presented to allocate radio resource adaptively at physical (PHY) layer according to the physical channel conditions and the characteristics of packets such as traffic arrival, delay constraint and so on. Simulation results show that our scheme can satisfy most users´ QoS requirements and have very good performance in packet drop rate, packet delay while maintain high system throughput.
