Abstract :
The tapering of magnetic field profile and waveguide radius allows for significant improvement of the gain-bandwidth characteristics of gyro-traveling-wave tubes (gyro-TWTs). A general nonlinear theory of the gyro-TWT with tapered parameters is presented and some examples are considered.
