Abstract :
To realize an ultimate material similar to "autonomous control system of living cell" capable of responding to electromagnetic waves, a computer controllable metamaterial (CCMM) has been thus far proposed. In this paper, novel CCMM configurations are proposed for microwave absorbers focusing on matching characteristic improvement as one application of CCMM. Using 2D CCMM composed of active and passive circuits, broadband characteristics with an absorption band 6.5 times greater than conventional CCMM absorber at the central frequency of 4.3 GHz is obtained. With 3D CCMM mounted on inductive circuits, matching characteristics below -20 dB in reflection coefficient are attained at an angle of 45deg for TM waves. These CCMM are controlled by only two bias feeder wirings.
