Abstract :
The study focuses on Northwestern areas in China. In order to find out the relation between economic development and environment quality in northwestern of China, the author, the author uses Environmental Kuznets Curves and analyzes the data from year 1991 to 2009. Through this detailed analysis the author also aims at predicting the future trend and ultimately finds out the sustainable development mode in northwestern areas. The result indicates that the relation among waste gas, water and per capita GDP displays an N model while industrial waste increases monotonically with per capita GDP. Through this study, the author finds out the cause of environmental problems in northwestern areas, summarizes the relation between economic development and environment quality in northwestern of China and correspondingly puts forward some suggestions to improve the environment.
