Abstract
Regarding the characteristics of uncertainty on the relationship between design factors of first class highways and traffic safety, the unascertained measure model of the safety evaluation for the design of first class highways is established on the basis of unascertained measure space. Through unascertained measure of single indicator, calculation of comprehensive measure for multiple indicators and the weight determination process of indicators, the comprehensive evaluation for the design of first class highways is realized. The example research indicates that it´s theoretically feasible to use unascertained measure model to study the safety evaluation problem for the design of first class highways and the evaluation results are credible and this provides a new method for the safety evaluation of highway design under unascertained conditions.
