Abstract :
China´s economic development pattern is experiencing the transformation from extensive mode to intensive mode, from solely pursuing the speed of its GDP growth to the sustainable development harmonizing welfare increase and environmental protection. When ecological reservation and economic growth become complementary, ecological compensation emerges as one of the key elements in sustainable development. This paper examines the drawbacks existing in the current ecological compensation mechanism in China, and put forward a government-civilian compensation mechanism in the hope to solve this problem.
