Abstract :
We present a bottom-up approach for the automated generation of hypermedia documents. The approach is based on the idea of calculating the structure of a document from a given set of textual, graphical, continuous, and interactive mediaobjects. From all these objects the most appropriate ones according to the requested structure and content are selected and sequenced into a tree-like structure. This structure is first converted into a set of screen pages then into a set of chapters and sections, and finally into a set of HTML files. The main advantage of the proposed bottom-up approach beside its simplicity is that the resulting documents can easily be extended and maintained
