Abstract :
The main function of crossover operators used in genetic algorithms is to approach gradually to the optimal solution by recombining the locally formed information. Since existing crossover operators select crossover points at random, it may destroy the information obtained previously. To overcome these defects, HRO (homologous recombination operator) has been developed. In this paper, we explain the mechanism of the HRO and compare its performance with existing operators through the implementation of HRO.
