Abstract :
A new progressive image transmission method is proposed, based on the image sharing via sharing of the SPIHT- generated bit stream of wavelet transform coefficients through the modified Shamir´s (r, m) threshold scheme over Galois field. The method gives embedded shadow images for progressive transmission and reconstruction. It is secure and fault-tolerant, gives small shadow size and excellent rate-distortion performance. Experimental results demonstrate the characteristics of the proposed method.
