Abstract :
This paper presents a study of efficient arrangements of switches intended to support a local area network environment. Given a set of switches, the goal is to find the interconnection pattern which maximizes the number of simultaneous connections the network can support. Various configurations of switches are evaluated and compared. The results of this paper may be applied to any set of connection-oriented switches, e.g., ATM, HIPPI
