Abstract :
The paper proposes a new algorithm for the screw thread defects detection and a new automated detect system. The system used the detecting method based on the machine vision, and the detecting component is the image sensor. By the time sequence, the image sensor captures the images of the screw threads, identifies the image detecting, and selects the screw threads by the identified result. The system proposes a defect identify method based on edge extraction It solves the problems which puzzled the screw thread manufacture production in the screw thread defects detection, improving the detecting speed, realizing the entirely automated, untouched and online testing of the screw thread defects. The system effectively detects the screw thread defects. The accuracy of the system is high, and the stabilization is good in the long time operation, the detecting speed is fast.
