Abstract :
This paper reviews two new network management frameworks, Bellcore´s EML and CCITT´s TMN. These concepts are discussed in the context of the fast changing, increasingly competitive environment of today´s operating telecommunications company (OTC). A strategy is presented of how an OTC could evolve its present network management systems to take advantage of the benefits of TMN and EML
