Abstract :
A non-canonical form approach is proposed for exact pole placement by state feedback with minimum norm for linear multivariable systems. In this method it is only necessary to transform the input matrix to a special form. The transformation matrix obtained has large degrees of freedom which can be utilized to reduce further the norm of the feedback matrix. A novel pole placement method based on the non-canonical approach is derived by solving the Lyapunov matrix equation
