Abstract :
The advent of new architectures such as ISDN (integrated services digital network) has placed new requirements on software systems that support the provisioning process. The key factor that must be considered is the need for sharing switching machine facilities among different circuits. These new architectures have led to the need for a provisioning model of those services that depend on the new architectures. Such a model, which takes into account such factors as service order writing standards, variations among switch vendors, and variations in the use of the provisioning software system by the Bellcore client companies, is described. The model is explained in terms of a specific example, with reference to the ISDN capabilities
