  • Abstract
    A signal generator for band group 1, 3, and 4 in MB-OFDM UWB system is demonstrated in 0.18 μm RF CMOS 1P6M process. It composes of a low phase noise and wide tuning range voltage-controlled oscillator (6.12˜9.15 GHz) by using a modified switched-capacitor-array. This generator also includes a frequency divider and a multiplexer. Based on the measurement, the circuit consumes 36.63 mW. The best measured phase noise is -115 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset, and the output power is -1 dBm. Compared with the recent published papers by using FOM, this work shows good noise performance and low power dissipation.
