Abstract :
To cope with future demand of remote clinic on the consulting system of intensive care unit (ICU) , the availability of computer technology can greatly enhance the care quality performed by the less experienced local medical practitioners (MPs) . We developed a Clinical e-Guideline Care System (CECS) based on most common ICU treatment scenario. The Clinical e-Guideline Care System (CECS), a client-server structure, is based on GLIF specifications and RDF format. It uses Protege for the Guideline design and the execution simulation. We use an in-house developed Workflow Engine (eXFlow), the activate Guideline remotely. The workflow engine can communicate with the clinical information system and assist medical personnel to collect information and monitor patient´s condition in real time. Detailed caring steps and content are provided for MPs´ references as well. Additionally, the recorded clinical guideline processes can provide vital signs statistics for follow-up analysis. This clinical guideline system can assist remote monitoring and consultation.
