Abstract :
A description is given of the early results of an ongoing research program into the control of the nonlinear dynamics of large, flexible space structures. An approach to the modeling of generic space platforms is described, and the design of nonlinear feedback control systems via exact input-output linearization and decoupling as applied to this class of systems is also discussed. The role of nonlinear system zeros is highlighted. An example is given
