  • Abstract
The characteristics of MCS associated with the remnant of the downgraded severe tropical storm Bilis are studied using various kinds of observation data and numerical simulation results of WRF model. Results show that WRF model can simulate the precipitation process during 16~18th July 2006 successfully. During Bilis´s going into inland of southern part of China, because of the intensiveness and maintenance of southwest monsoon which provide sufficient water vapor and the mechanism of dynamic convergence caused by low-level northerly jet, the MCS developed quickly and kept active.
