Abstract :
A general architecture for IINM (intelligent integrated network management) systems is proposed. In this architecture, an expert system is integrated into a management system to handle particularly difficult problems. The management system and expert system work interactively. The protocols and standards that have been adopted for the IINM system are also presented. It is concluded that an IINM system is well suited for effectively and efficiently processing network problems such as monitoring, fault diagnosis, and planning
