Abstract :
It is proposed that unidirectional carbon composite materials allow the realization of the materials under 0.1 Poisson ratio. This study is concerned with the manufacturing process of the composite materials adopted for the matching layers of medical transducer arrays and the experimental results on their physical properties. And it is explained by computer simulation and experiment that the use of the composite materials for the matching layers decreases sharply the mechanical coupling between the adjacent elements of the array.
