Abstract
The author presents a generalized approximation theory for the problem of estimating parameters that appear in elliptic equations defined in parameter-dependent state spaces. The theory is a static version of a framework she developed (1988) for dynamical systems. She discusses some of the difficulties associated with problems defined on parameter-dependent state space, details specific hypotheses required to implement the theory, and outlines the central findings
