  • Abstract
Ageing population is increasing compared to general population. Related to this is appearing a group of social-healthcare services to promote health and wellness in elderly, known as Ambient Assisted Living (AAL). IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) technology can help to face this challenge providing a service and networks convergence. IMS offers a group of common services which can be reused in different applications, and enable the use of the same application over any device, anywhere and anytime. In this paper we describe a medical application that shows how IMS can be used to create this kind of AAL services. It is based on a medical home teleconsulting between a patient and a doctor that the user could have from his own home avoiding trips and supporting independent life.
