Abstract :
Identification and classification of network traffic is an important prerequisite of engineering and network management. According to the flow records collected from the Internet, packet length differentiation of typical Internet applications is analyzed. Through the statistical distribution of packet length, packet length is compared among applications, distribution characteristics are introduced and differentiation of applications is summarized. Results suggest the packet length distribution characteristics and the differentiation of typical Internet applications.
