  • Abstract
    A conventional curl antenna is modified into a staircase curl antenna to realize a wideband axial ratio characteristic. It is found that the staircase curl has a dramatically wide bandwidth of approximately 50% for a 3 dB axial ratio criterion. It is also found that the VSWR exhibits values of less than 2 within this axial ratio bandwidth.
