Abstract :
Voltage drop problems exist on long distribution lines that can be mitigated using series compensation which TCSC result. In this paper, a novel approach is proposed to enhance the voltage profile in distribution feeders using thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC). The proposed approach is based on phasor diagram analysis which its results are compared with PI controller commonly used in papers. Simulations are performed and theoretical results are verified by PSCAD software.
