Abstract :
For purposes of verifying inverse and forward scattering models for sea ice, and to develop a better understanding of scattering and emission behaviours from sea ice, a target is built whose dielectric properties are similar to those of sea ice. This paper briefly describes the investigation of materials leading to the construction of a 12 layer epoxy target, dielectric measurements regarding how well this target followed the desired dielectric profile, and microwave measurements of the target made using several bistatic angles
