  • Abstract
    The scope of the subject work is to describe the major modifications which have been carried out on a standard unit for medical ultrasound imaging (Technos MPX by Esaote SpA), in order to obtain a digital flexible research platform. The most important challenge was to achieve all the flexibility needed for research purposes on an already existing hardware platform. The main characteristics of the upgraded platform, as well as some preliminary application results, are presented.
